Introduction of CMC Cellulose Gum

Introduction of CMC Cellulose Gum

At present, there are more than 300 kinds of CMC products with different purity, levels and specifications in the world. High purity CMC, also known as CMC cellulose gum, is widely used in batteries to prevent precipitation of active substances and improve charge-discharge performance.

CMC cellulose gum is featured with alkali-resistance, acid-resistance and salt-resistance and does not hydrolyze at 15-45℃. Liquid with CMC cellulose gum has stable properties and can be used as electrolyte additive in alkaline batteries and zinc-manganese batteries.

CMC cellulose gum is used as thickener and paste, which has good hydrophilicity, high uniformity of substitution, stable viscosity, high adhesion and low metal content. The aqueous solution of the gum is transparent and mobile.

As a water binder for negative electrode, the characteristics of CMC cellulose gum are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Large molecular weight, easy to agglomerate, high peel strength.

2. CMC cellulose gum with high etherification degree leaves little undissolved matter; with low etherification degree that has high peel strength.

3. Low in metal ions, even distribution, high and stable viscosity, high adhesion, ideal thickener for lithium batteries.

Applications of CMC cellulose gum:

1. With good hydrophilicity and compatibility, CMC cellulose gum can be mixed well with various metal powders.

2.CMC cellulose gum improves the voltage platform of the battery, reduces the internal resistance of the battery, and reduces the internal pressure to amplify current of the battery.

3.CMC cellulose gum, as an adhesive with stable molecular weight, provides a stable viscosity and adhesive force that are convenient for production.
